The Mindef March

Haha, it was nice, you know. It was just this morning when we actually discussing about the thick Mindef forms, SAT and the medical report. When you think about for awhile, it isn't that scary. It's just that we're afraid they're too slow to process what we want. Like the hospital, the school, etc. (Of course, there's the scary part where we choose courses, then unis and write our personal statement.)

Anyway, it was last night when me and Yi Huey coincidentally decided to go to Ripas this afternoon to check out the medical check-up thingy. She was complaining that while she was stressed out, I was lol-ing at every of her laments. Lol. =p There came Chea Xin, Wei Deng, Derick in the discussion. And we pulled Steph into the discussion, who obviously was blur even about the presence of a Mindef scholarship at all.

Some more random photos.
At 1.45pm, I was thinking that I was the earliest at Ripas. Who knows at a glance, I saw a purple skirt (Yi Huey) and Wei Deng afterwards. Apparently, they came at 1.30pm. Doink. Everyone came shortly around 2, including an extra Cai Yen and Yen Lu. It was just so lucky the people at the counter finally accepted our check-up. They wouldn't last time.

After rushing around to get the forms photocopied, the race started. Me and Yi Huey left our IC's at the counter earlier and had ours processed the fastest. Everything is computerised nowadays. Cool. Barcodes and printed stickers.

And the person began saying test this this this, at where where where, doing what what what. Leaving you dumbfounded, like huh? And so we went.

Run down that long road to win. Be the fastest!
At the radiology department, you had to bare your chest (guys and girls) and stick it to the xray machine thingy. "Hold your breath" and when i thought it was gonna take long, they told me it's finished. Doink. It took longer for Yi Huey, and i suspect it's the troublesome baju kurung.

At the labs, there's stuff for scooping your 'poopoo', 'peepee' and 'bloodblood'. lol. I had to keep my pee in before that, because I had to wait for this. Lol. I once heard you only use the middle section of your pee. So I dumped my bottles and refilled. And your urinary muscles have to be strong contract again and again. Lol.

And the blood thingy, they took 3 cylinders. It hurt a bit when it was in the blood vessel and I didn't look at that moment when it poked in. But the process was okay, though I was evidently a bit tense. The cylinders are cool, they have suction originally I think. Plus, the very "sat" tubing of the needle allows many cylinders to be filled with only one poking. I think Derick actually turned white at the bloodtaking thingy. Uh-oh, don't kill me. Hehe.

At the cardio dept, they had this ECG thingy to look at my heartbeat patterns. Stuck all these squarish thingies on my chest. Reminds me of bluetack, and they kept complaining it wasn't sticky enough. Low quality Bluetack. =p They eventually used cellotape. Connected loads of wires on those things. Reminds me of physics circuit. And after the test, they actually labeled me "70yr male"?? So they redid the test again. Lol. It was relatively quick, it's just putting it on and everything is slow.

Lastly, we went to Kiarong, almost getting lost trying to find that stupid area. To check for TB! Haha! What Mantoux test. So confusing. The injection actually hurt. They go under your skin and eject some liquid thingy in. The 'soon-to-be swell' is flat now. So will I have TB like Hao Han?

Just kidding. He doesn't have TB. Everyone would have some swelling. It just depends on how severe it is, to tell whether u have TB.

Some light of hope. Lol.
It was at first exasperating looking at all inefficient work at first. Not able to get the medical check-up at first. Not workable photocopier. But when everything started to work out fine, it was so relieving and brought smiles to my face. Haha.

Everything here was really quick. I think they placed us at higher priority since we had a deadline for Mindef. Nice. It was really nice knowing your friends were all around the hospital doing the same thing. It was kind of fun. Haha. Meeting your friends every now and then. And it's nice there many people other than me aiming for Mindef. Weee~ More friends to apply together. heehee.

Just a better option that ~~? =p A border or so.
Yes, I want to join the singing competition. But well, my IC isn't ready yet, so I can't completely fill my form. And what am I singing? Don't know. =p

And wish me good luck for GP tomoro. Ciaoz~

Virgos

I am lazy to make new post. One discovery. Chiaw Yee is actually a Virgo. Like me! No wonder she's a "certified perfectionist". Virgos are known to be perfectionists. I should have seen it coming.

Since I am a Virgo, I am a certified perfectionist too! =p And umma, I can actually read those horoscopes for myself all the time. Lol. And later you'll be seeing lots and lots of horoscopes.=p

Just kidding. But it's true that i'm a Virgo. Lol!!!!

Current Status (again)

3 FREAKING HOURS. I waited three freaking hours like a silly stupid statue in the immigrations building just for my pasport. Great. Now, I know what someone used to feel like. But well, she waited 4 hours, in school, in where she could talk to lots and lots of friends. And at least move about.

~~~ ~~~
The MinDef scholarship form is incredibly huge. 23 freaking pages. About ten for yourself, ranging from particulars to maybe all of your previous results? (pce included) Then a medical report. And at least two references from your teacher and the principal maybe?
Plus, I need to take TOEFL, SAT. Start thinking and determining what I want to apply for. Apply where. Great. Research. And the deadline is a few days after ALL my exams. June 16. Wonderful. One month from now.
I am going to be WAY busy! With this, exams and the competition?
~~~ ~~~

I was actually in a good mood just now. Now, a bit troubled. I was feeling just now, well ready to explore and accept new things, ideas, interesting stuff. But anyway, the moods gone. So no point describing it. Now.

Very very troubled. Sigh.

Random thoughts.

Shabby chic. I mentioned this before right? It's a scrapbooking shop, located on the top floor of the mall. The materials there are a bit expensive, but very inspiring. If you ever get stumped with artistic inspiration, try there, it's kinda nice. At least for me. And, if you like scrapbooking or DIY crafts, it's a really nice. You get a very artistic and impressive result too. If your slightly lazy, there are still many things ready-made and available, at a price though, literally.

~~~ ~~~
I have one period of PS today and tomorrow. Occasional free periods are nice. Long term? No! It would be damn boring. And I went to the library today, and it was actually warm. That's really weird. It was slightly cooler at the guys' section. Anyway, I chose the best place, the ICT lab. Ths A2 students had their class and it was really quiet. I was in the occasional mood of actually doing homework there. Nice for concentration and everything, if I am motivated. Plus, if I was alone, I would freak out. I either need friends around or music. =p
This free period is all thanks to the preparation the chem dept is doing for the coming practical. This means I'll have another one for all the other practicals, hopefully. For both paper 31 and 32. Hehe. Which is why tomorrow, I have a 2 and a half hour lunch break. Time to think where to eat. =p
~~~ ~~~

The photo session was cancelled today again. 效率. Wonderful.

~~~ ~~~
Well, I was complaining and explaining to a junior about somethings about the school. And he thinks someone was recording. I think that someone is recording. He sat beside us with the lens of the phone open and everything. I'm getting paranoid of being recorded. What if it goes to youtube. Will it be removed? Will I not get my prefect cert? Ahahaha, I'm so self-centred. Jk about that line. But I am slightly paranoid now.
And so my post ends here. Like I said, random thoughts of the day. =p
